Last Day for Navarro County Criminal District Attorney Filing Extension

On Tuesday December 9 at approximately 9:21 am, incumbent Criminal District Attorney Will Thompson submitted his Certificate Of Withdrawal from the 2026 Republican Primary Election, which is the last day for candidate withdrawal.
Per Texas Election Code 145.001 and Texas Secretary of State Election Advisory 2025-14, the filing period for the Criminal District Attorney position has been extended five days which will carryover into Monday December 15, 2025 until 6:00 pm. County Chair Steve Jessup will be available on Monday to receive new DA candidate filings.
